You’ve got big dreams, right? A healthier body. A meaningful relationship. A house with a white picket fence. You've read the books, watched the videos, and maybe even made a list or two. But then... you find yourself stuck in planning mode. Does this sound familiar? You’re endlessly scrolling LinkedIn, researching job openings and the “perfect” career move. You spend hours curating the ideal diet, but you haven’t put it into action yet. Or maybe you're swiping through dating apps, hoping for that perfect match without ever taking the leap to make a real connection. I get it—planning feels safe. But here's the truth: Planning never got anyone anywhere. Action is where the magic happens. You can think about the job you want, but until you reach out to someone in that role, you're just daydreaming. You can create the perfect fitness plan, but if you never change one meal, you'll stay stuck. You can imagine the perfect relationship, but if you don’t take the risk to approach someone, you'll remain in the same cycle. Action doesn't need to be perfect—it just needs to be done. Let me share a story that might resonate. A year ago, I had a conversation with Mike, a guy in his mid-20s. He hated his job, was frustrated with his health, and kept talking about all the things he would do. “I’ll start exercising next month... I just need to figure out the best workout plan first.” “I’ll update my resume, but I’m not sure what role is right for me.” Six months later I followed up with him and nothing had changed. Mike was stuck in the planning phase. So I gave him a challenge: “Call someone in a role you want. Just one conversation. It doesn’t have to be perfect.” After some hesitation, Mike picked up the phone. It wasn’t perfect, but it led to more conversations and eventually, a job referral. That one action changed everything. You don’t need to do everything all at once. You just need to take the first step. What if you took action today? Not tomorrow. Not next week. Right now. Want a new job? Start a conversation with someone in the role you want. Want to get healthier? Change just one meal today. Want a meaningful relationship? Approach one person and start a conversation. When you take action, momentum builds. Before you know it, you'll look back and wonder why you ever waited. So, stop overthinking. Stop planning.
