Being Normal Sucks...

Want to hear something crazy?

It’s normal to spend $15 on a cocktail.

It’s normal to wake up and feel like shit on Saturday and Sunday.

It’s normal to almost throw up on the plane on the way home from a bachelor party.

All of these are normal.

When you take a step back and critically look at that, it’s insane.

Why would I want to be “normal” if that’s what my life looks like?

It’s so easy to compare ourselves to everyone else and say, “Well, everyone does it, so why not?”

Why not? Because normal sucks.

On the flip side:

It’s not normal to wake up feeling great every day.

It’s not normal to be fit.

It’s not normal to be social without an alcoholic lubricant.

This feels backward to me.

It makes it really clear that I don’t want “normal.”

I want to be different. And in order to be different, I have to do different things.

I have to critically examine my alcohol consumption.

I have to look at what I eat.

I have to be called “crazy” or “no fun” when I start prioritizing health and happiness.

It’s a small price to pay, because I don’t want to be normal.

I never want to be normal.

Favorite Photo from the Week:

The Christmas tree is up and decorated! This year, we put up a fake tree, and it kind of feels wrong. So, there’s a chance we’ll go out this weekend and cut down a real one.

Are you team real or fake tree?

Till next week, be kind, be curious, and work hard.

P.S. If you’re a guy like me and don’t want to settle for “normal,” I’m pulling together a group just for you.

A group full of guys who want to be different. Who want to become the best version of themselves.

If this sounds like you, message me “F*ck Normal,” and I’ll send over the details.
