A Week-Long Bachelor Party? Yes Please...

Last week, I hit pause on the newsletter for an epic adventure—a week-long bachelor trip.

I’m not sure how I got so lucky—convincing two friends to take a full week off and a few more to fly out to Canada for the weekend—but somehow, it all came together perfectly.

It kicked off when two of my best friends from high school flew into Montana on a Saturday. By Sunday, we were on the road, bound for British Columbia.

  • Sunday/Monday: Our first stop was Red Mountain. With waist-deep powder and a ski-in/ski-out room.
  • Tuesday/Wednesday: Next, we skied the insanely challenging Revelstoke Mountain. I found myself asking, "can I ski this line?" more times than I can remember—taking a tumble every once in a while or hiking back up after finding myself on a 30 foot cliff.
  • Thursday: We arrived at the stunning Lake Louise Mountain, and later, joined up with a few more guys.
  • Friday: Switching gears, we traded our skis for dog sleds in Banff National Park. I thought it would be cool—but holy s***, it was awesome. The dogs were fired up, and the louder we screamed, the faster they ran. The views also looked like they belonged on a magazine cover.
  • Saturday: Our final skiing stop was at Banff Ski Resort, where the views and crisp mountain air capped off the skiing portion of the trip.
  • Sunday: We wrapped up the trip, said our goodbyes, and headed back home.

The whole weekend just filled me with love and gratitude. It's hard to fit into words how much the trip meant to me… But as I look back there are definitely a few lessons I want to remember.

  • Book Friends: We all have “chapter friends” who join us for a season, but the “book friends” who stick around through every chapter? They’re absolutely priceless and need to be cherished.
  • Investing in Health: Staying fit isn’t just a gym routine—it’s your passport to epic adventures. Without solid workouts, mobility, and proper nutrition, skiing six days straight and enduring a 20+ hour drive wouldn’t have been possible.
  • Winter is What You Make It: While many view winter as dark and gloomy, it can also be a playground of possibility. The mountains are all about what you make them.
  • Excited Return: Even after an epic week, I was pumped to jump back into my coaching routine. A Monday full of calls had me smiling all day, grateful for the life I've crafted.

Here's some pictures from the trip!

Till next week, be kind, be curious, and work hard.
